Cookie Policy

About this document

What it’s for

A cookie policy with a cookie audit table and a compliance checklist. It reflects the PECR changes made by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, in force from 5 February 2026, which allow certain analytics and functionality cookies without prior consent, provided visitors are clearly told and can easily object.

When to use it

  • On any website that uses cookies, pixels, local storage or similar technologies
  • Linked from your cookie banner, site footer and privacy notice
  • Updated whenever you add a tool, plug-in, embedded video or advertising tag

What’s inside

The document is laid out in the sections below. Each one comes with a plain-English guidance note explaining what it does and what to change.

  1. About this policy
  2. What cookies and similar technologies are
  3. How the law applies to our cookies
  4. The categories of cookies we use
  5. The cookies on our site
  6. Managing your cookie choices
  7. Cookies in our emails
  8. Personal data collected by cookies
  9. Changes to this policy
  10. Contact us

Also included

  • Audit
  • Statistics and functionality exceptions
  • Consent-based cookies
  • Policy and records

How to complete it

  • Run a cookie scan and list every cookie in the table in section 5
  • Categorise each cookie honestly – few are truly strictly necessary
  • Use the opt-out categories only where the strict conditions are met
  • Test that your banner works as described, then complete the checklist

Key points to check

  • Advertising and cross-site tracking cookies still need prior consent
  • Third-party analytics only fits the new exception if the provider uses data solely to help you improve your site
  • PECR fines have been raised to UK GDPR levels
