Event Terms and Booking Conditions

About this document

What it’s for

Booking terms for events you run – in person, online or hybrid – such as workshops, training courses, conferences, networking events, classes, shows and ticketed social events. They cover booking and payment, all-in ticket pricing (so booking fees are never “dripped”), tickets and transfers, cancellation by attendees and by you, changes, refunds, accessibility, conduct, photography, liability and complaints, with a schedule of event details and a cancellation request form.

When to use it

  • Selling tickets or places to consumers, businesses or both
  • Running paid workshops, courses, conferences or ticketed events
  • Free events where you still need conduct and photography rules

How to complete it

  • Complete Schedule 1 for each event and Schedule 2 with your cancellation charges
  • Delete the consumer or business options that do not apply
  • Check your booking pages against the checklist in Schedule 4
  • Link these terms from the booking page and confirmation email

Key points to check

  • Advertised prices must include booking and other mandatory fees
  • Cancellation charges must be fair – keep them proportionate to your real losses
