Guarantor Agreement (Deed)
About this document
A deed under which a third party (usually a parent or relative) guarantees a tenant’s rent and other obligations. It is written for open-ended periodic tenancies under the Renters’ Rights Act 2025, so it includes a financial cap, a right for the guarantor to bring the guarantee to an end for the future, and plain-English explanations the guarantor must read.
The document is laid out in the sections below. Each one comes with a plain-English guidance note explaining what it does and what to change.
Our templates are professionally structured starting points for UK businesses, not legal advice. For anything complex, unusual or high-value, have your final version checked by a solicitor.
