Location Release Form

About this document

What it’s for

A written agreement with the owner or occupier of a property allowing you to use it as a location for a shoot or filming, and to use the resulting images and footage. It also deals with the practical points that cause disputes: access times, crew size, parking, damage, cancellation and the location fee.

When to use it

  • Shooting in homes, shops, offices, farms, venues, gardens or private land
  • Whenever the property is recognisable, or the footage may be used commercially or broadcast
  • Alongside the Photography and Model Release Form for any people who appear
