Quality Management Policy for Accountancy Practices
About this document
A written quality management policy that sets out how the practice makes sure its work is done properly, by competent people, in line with professional standards and the law. Professional bodies, including ACCA, look at quality procedures on practice monitoring visits. Firms that carry out audits, reviews, other assurance or related services engagements (which can include compilation of financial information) should also check whether International Standard on Quality Management 1 (ISQM 1, or ISQM (UK) 1 for audit firms) applies to them, and adapt this policy accordingly.
The document is laid out in the sections below. Each one comes with a plain-English guidance note explaining what it does and what to change.
