Staff Confidentiality Agreement for Accountancy Firms

About this document

What it’s for

A stand-alone agreement that sets out the confidentiality duties of everyone who works in or for the practice, reflecting professional duties to clients, data protection law, money laundering tipping-off rules and modern working (home working, cloud systems and generative AI). It preserves the disclosures that the law says a confidentiality clause cannot prevent.

When to use it

  • For every new employee, trainee, temporary worker, consultant and subcontractor
  • For existing staff when your systems or policies change
  • Alongside, not instead of, the contract of employment or services agreement
