Accountancy Practice Valuation

Overview

Accountancy and bookkeeping practices are usually bought and sold as a multiple of recurring fees, with part of the price held back and adjusted for the clients who actually stay. This workbook builds that picture from the client list up: it analyses the quality of the fee income, values it as an adjusted multiple of recurring fees and as a multiple of normalised profit, then models how the price is paid – upfront, deferred with retention adjustments and clawback, and earn-out. It shows the buyer's funding, cash flow and payback, and the seller's after-tax proceeds under three common structures. Every result is indicative only.

  4. Fees Multiple – Set the base multiple range and review each quality adjustment. Pick the staff, location and handover ratings.
