Childminder & Nursery Manager

Overview

Running a childcare setting means juggling bookings, funded hours, parents' fees, local authority claims, staff ratios and your own tax – usually across several spreadsheets and a lot of guesswork. This workbook brings it together. You keep a register of children and their usual booked sessions; the workbook works out every child's fees for every month, takes off their funded hours, adds any optional food and consumables, produces an itemised invoice for each family, tracks what parents have paid and who is behind, shows what you can claim from the local authority each term, checks occupancy and EYFS ratios session by session, costs your staff, and estimates your profit and tax.

  4. Families – Add one line per family with a short reference (e.g. F001), contact details and any balance owed from before 1 April.
  5. Children – Add each child: family, date of birth, start and leave dates, the session code for each weekday, fee basis, funded entitlement and pattern, and whether they've opted in to food and consumables.
  6. Staff Rota – Nurseries (and childminders with assistants): list your staff, their pay rate, age band and usual shifts.
