Share out every trip fairly – and see what the boat really makes

Most UK inshore and day boats still pay their crew on the share: the trip's landings, less the common running costs, are split between the boat and the crew, and the crew's part is divided by share units. It's fair and simple in principle, but keeping it straight across hundreds of trips, relief crew, half-shares, advances and owner-only costs is hard work. This workbook does the arithmetic for every trip, prints settlements and crew statements, totals each person's earnings for the tax year and shows what the boat actually makes once maintenance, insurance, quota leasing and depreciation are paid.
