National Minimum Wage Compliance Checker

Overview

Underpaying the minimum wage – even by accident – can mean arrears at today's rates, penalties of up to 200% and being named publicly. Common traps include deductions for uniforms or tools, unpaid time spent training or travelling between jobs, salaried staff working extra hours, and birthdays that move someone into a higher rate. This checker tests each worker's pay in each pay period against the correct rate for their age on the right date, allows for the accommodation offset and reducing deductions, and shows any shortfall to put right.
