Stock Tracker – Lite

Overview

Stock is cash sitting on a shelf. Too little and you lose sales; too much and your money is tied up in lines that gather dust. This Lite edition keeps a record of every product and every stock movement, values your stock at weighted average cost, gives every line a traffic-light reorder status, lists what to order from each supplier and shows a monthly stock value that reconciles to the penny – all summed up on one dashboard.

Everything at or below its reorder level, grouped by supplier, with suggested quantities, costs and supplier contact details. What you do: nothing to enter – use it to place orders.

Who it is for

Made for people like you

  • Example – text
  • Small shops and gift retailers – Stock on hand, margin and days of cover for every line, and a reorder list grouped by supplier.
  • Makers and small producers – Record each batch you make as a Purchase at its cost (materials plus your time) and follow it through to sale.
  • Online sellers – Weekly or monthly sales totals per product are enough – you don't need to record every order.
  • Your accountant – A stock value at any date and cost of sales by month, with a check row that proves it adds up.
  • Lite or full version? – The full Stock Tracker adds FIFO valuation, a slow-moving and dead stock report, a stocktake sheet, stock turn and GMROI, transfers between locations, a supplier sheet with minimum-order checks, and room for 300 products and 2,500 movements. It is available from AML Consultancy Solutions – amlconsultancysolutions.co.uk.

Quick start

Up and running in minutes

  1. Example – text
  1. Settings – Enter your business name, the opening stock date (the day your opening quantities were counted) and the report date. Add your suppliers with their lead times, and check the category list.
  2. Products – One row per stock line: SKU, name, category, supplier, unit, cost price, selling price ex VAT, VAT rate, reorder level and reorder quantity – plus the quantity and value you held on the opening stock date.
  3. Movements – From then on, log every purchase, sale, return, adjustment and write-off. Daily, weekly or monthly sales totals from your till (EPOS) are fine.
  4. Check the results – Stock on Hand shows each line's quantity, value, margin, days of cover and status. The Reorder sheet lists what to order, grouped by supplier.
  5. Review regularly – Look at the Dashboard each week and the Stock Value sheet at each month end.
