Complaints Policy (Childcare)

About this document

What it’s for

Your complaints policy and procedure for parents and carers. It sets out how to raise a concern, the stages and timescales, how safeguarding complaints are handled differently, the EYFS 28-day rule, the complaints record Ofsted can ask to see, and how parents can contact Ofsted. It includes a complaint form, complaints record, acknowledgement and outcome letters and a parent notice.

When to use it

  • As the complaints procedure in your parent handbook and on your website
  • Whenever a parent raises a concern, in person or in writing
  • To prepare your complaints record for Ofsted inspection
