Contract of Employment (Permanent)

About this document

What it’s for

A complete contract of employment for a permanent employee, full or part time. It contains every particular required in the written statement under section 1 of the Employment Rights Act 1996, so it can be issued as the statement on or before the employee’s first day.

When to use it

  • For any new permanent employee, or to replace an out-of-date contract by agreement
  • With the Staff Handbook, which holds the non-contractual policies
  • Use the Fixed-Term Contract in this pack for temporary roles and the Zero-Hours Agreement for casual workers
