Outings and Trips Policy and Consent Form

About this document

What it’s for

Your policy and procedure for taking children off the premises, from a walk to the park to a coach trip. It covers planning, risk assessment, ratios, first aid, transport (walking, public transport, minibus and cars), car seats, headcounts, emergencies and records. Appendices include an outing risk assessment, outing plan and headcount log, general and specific consent forms and a vehicle and driver checklist.

When to use it

  • For all regular local outings and school runs
  • For special trips, using a specific risk assessment and consent form
  • When children are transported in any vehicle
