Sexual Harassment Risk Assessment and Prevention Action Plan
About this document
Since 26 October 2024 employers have had a positive legal duty to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of their workers (Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023). The Equality and Human Rights Commission’s guidance expects employers to assess the risks in their own workplace and act on them. The Employment Rights Act 2025 strengthens the duty to “all reasonable steps” and adds third-party harassment. This assessment gives you the evidence.
The document is laid out in the sections below. Each one comes with a plain-English guidance note explaining what it does and what to change.
